Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Jessica's Ben

Ben was born on the 14th July 1999.  Ben arrived in the house like a whirlwind and continued like that through two trainers until I got Julie Holmes who saved him from himself.   Training was not something Ben took to very well but we managed to get him to the point where he went to Working Trials Club to try agility.  That was fun, I can still hear John Ward shouting "shut that dog up".  He barked at everything even people in windows in the houses as there was certainly some Greyhound in him he saw everything. I finally gave up and let him be the family pet, a position he enjoyed for his short life as he only lived for 7 1/2 years and finally lost his battle with illness on 22nd February 2007.

 Mary's Sandy

Sandy was a beautiful golden Labrador and came to WCTI when she was 6 months old.  She started off in the puppy class and graduated through all the classes but only managed a couple of agility classes due to her hip problems.  She won the Duas Comhairle prize one year, which was given to us for our commitment and progress that year in the WCTI.  She also participated in many of the displays held around Dublin.  Sandy had many health problems since birth, but despite this she was always ready to give the paw, and was a gentle soul with plenty of character and love.  She is sorely missed.
